Bassetlaw Council carried out an inspection at Sash Beauty Retreat, on Central Avenue, after a Facebook message was brought to the authority’s attention.

The post said: “We have a client wanting lips done this Saturday, but only wants half syringe. Anyone want to have the other half with her for £82.50?”

The inspection found no concerns and business partners Sarah Goddard and Ashley Whitmore told the Guardian they have done nothing wrong.

Ashley said: “We do not share needles.

“It has been taken way out of context.”

Ashley said they were not asking anyone to share a syringe, but it was actually in relation to sharing two separate 0.5ml lip fillers.

The original post was shared widely over the internet, causing the owners much distress.

Ashley said: “We are now fighting to keep our reputation, it has been crazy.”

“The council and Public Health England have been in touch with our nurse and there is nothing to worry about, they have ben brilliant.”

Emma said: “We are not going to fall to the ground, this will make us stronger, it is all lies.

“We are taking legal action and we are going to the police.”

The post was brought to the attention of Save Face, an ‘accreditation scheme for aesthetic medical professionals and clinics’, which then contacted PHE.

A statement on behalf of Bassetlaw Council and PHE said they had been notified about the alleged issue relating to the practice of cosmetic procedures.

It said: “Bassetlaw Council has inspected the premises and undertaken an assessment. No issues were raised and hygiene standards are being met. Cosmetic procedures such as botox and fillers are being carried out by a registered nurse. Anyone considering undergoing a cosmetic procedure should always go through a qualified and safe practitioner.”
