An area of woodland went up in flames in Mansfield Woodhouse this afternoon in which fire crews were called out to tackle.
Pumps from Mansfield and Edwinstowe received the call at 1.32pm top attend the fire at the Browxtowe Woods area off Debdale Lane.
They found 40 metre-squared of grass, trees and undergrowth had been lit, with multiple seats of fire.
They used a hose reel jet to bring the flames under control.
Mansfield watch manager Daren Warner was uncertain if the fire had been started deliberately and felt it could have been a barbecue or camp fire that got out of control.
