Woman rescued from Sutton house fire

TWO women had a narrow escape after a house fire in Sutton.

Crews from Ashfield, Mansfield and Alfreton were called to Huthwaite Road just after 3pm this afternoon. (Thursday)

On arrival the fire, which was in an upstairs bedroom, was out but one women had to be rescued from the property by firefighters.

The other woman had managed to get herself out by the time crews arrived.

A 20-year-old woman was treated at the scene by paramedics for smoke inhalation.

The area was made safe by 4.10pm.
