Woman hospitalised after M1 crash

A woman was hospitalised after being involved in a collision with a lorry on the M1 northbound between junctions 27-28 last night (December 12) at about 6pm.

A specialist rescue unit from Highfields Fire Station cut the roof off the woman’s Citroen C3 car to free her.

She was transferred to hospital by paramedic afterwards with minor injuries.

The road was closed between 7-7.15pm while the rescue was carried out.
