Woman cut free after kirkby car smash

Firefighters had to cut a woman free by removing the roof of a car after she was trapped following a crash in Kirkby.

Crews from Ashfield and Hucknall used cutting equipment to rescue the 36 year old after they were called to the crash on Main Road at 10.43am today (Thursday November 23).

The woman was taken to hospital by East Midland Ambulance Service.

The incident was stopped at 11.44am.

A fire services spokesman said the other vehicle had left the scene when emergency services arrived.
