Police are appealing for witnesses following a collision between a car and a moped on the A61 at Stretton, near Alfreton.

At 11am on Wednesday 20th September a silver Mercedes B Class was in collision with a Piaggio moped adjacent to the White Bear pub.

The rider of the moped, a 41-year-old man, suffered internal injuries and was taken to Chesterfield and North Derbyshire Royal Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

Officers investigating the collision would like to speak to witnesses and are keen to talk to the driver of a white van who was travelling in front of the moped along the A61 and turned left towards Woolley Moor.

Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Andrew Prince from the force’s Collision Investigation Unit on 01773 572929.
