THE Winter FoodFest returns to Thoresby Park on 17th and 18th November. Celebrating all things foodie, the FoodFest is a combination of a retail Food Fair and a Kitchen Theatre featuring talks and demos by local chefs.
“Our stallholders are local, with the vast majority coming from Nottinghamshire and the surrounding counties”, said organiser Alison Lowe of Nottingham-based Adelanta Events. “Our aim is to promote local companies and products, helping visitors to be aware of just what a fantastic array of produce we have in this region”.
Running from 10am to 4pm daily, the FoodFest is an indoor and outdoor event. “Most of the stalls are indoors, in the lovely Riding Hall at Thoresby”, continued Alison. “The building isn’t usually open to the public; it’s used for wedding receptions, conferences and the occasional concert or play. The FoodFest gives a glimpse of this stunning Victorian hall, which has the added advantage of being warm and dry in case of inclement weather!”
The Kitchen Theatre will be in operation on both days, with a programme a series of short demos by local chefs including Teresa Bovey, Des Sweeney, Tony Sloan and Simon Pongetti. For children, there’s a Treasure Hunt, with prizes for all participants!
Admission to the FoodFest is free, and there is free parking at Thoresby as well. For further information, please see the website www.adelanta.co.uk/winterfoodfest.html
