MUSIC lovers can look forward to a fantastic summer of festivals with a number of star names coming to Clumber Park and Sherwood Pines in the coming months - and buy this week’s Chad for a chance to win tickets to the Clumber concerts.
Top names from the world of music including The Human League, Heaven 17 and Katherine Jenkins will be performing during a star-studded three days of music at Clumber Park in August.
The three consecutive festivals will kick off at Clumber Park with the Party in the Park on Friday 19th August with a dazzling line up including Chipmunk, Aggro Santos and The Wanted, while British hip hop group N-Dubz are now confirmed as the headline act.
N-Dubz have had eight top 40 hits in the UK Singles Chart, the most successful being I Need You, which charted at number five.
On 20th August, electro pop legends The Human League will be the main act at The Flashback Festival and they will be supported by Level 42, Heaven 17, Toyah and Nik Kershaw.
The Human League were formed in Sheffield in 1977 and have sold more than 20 million albums worldwide, with some of their hits including Don’t You Want Me and Tell Me When.
Katherine Jenkins will then take to the stage on Sunday (21st August) where she will be joined by the National Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Anthony Inglis.
Six out of seven of her studio albums reached number one in the classical charts between 2004 and 2008, selling a total of more than four million copies and the Welsh star is set to be joined by special guest Wynne Evans - a tenor best known for performing and singing in television insurance adverts.
The star attractions are not just restricted to Clumber Park with synthpop duo Erasure headlining at Sherwood Pines Forest Park on 17th June.
The iconic band will join the line up of top acts that have graced the stage deep in the forest and they will be followed by Simple Minds, who will be performing on 18th June.
Scottish rockers Simple Minds achieved worldwide popularity from the mid-1980s to the early 1990s and are led by two remaining founder members Jim Kerr and Charlie Burchill.
With hits including Don’t You (Forget About Me) and Alive and Kicking, the band has sold more than 40 million albums since 1979.
