West Notts students raise funds for Alzheimer’s Society

Health and social care students at West Notts College pulled out all the stops again this week on their second round of fundraising.

After last week’s sponsored onesie wearing to raise cash for the Alzheimer’s Society, this week they put in all their efforts to raise the charity more cash through collection buckets, a tombola and sales from a tuck shop.

Further cash was raised through an auction with prizes from Center Parcs, The Mint Indian Restaurant and Crystal Knitwear. The auction raised over £160.

They have also packed over 50 decorated shoe boxes with toiletries, food and hats and gloves ready to deliver to Framework in Mansfield – the charity which supports the homeless.

Health and social care Karen Dalby said: “Every single student has worked so hard on their fundraising for Raising and Giving (RAG) month at the college and this has tied in well with their coursework and they’ve become more aware of their local communities and people less well off than themselves.”
