Well done, Bilsthorpe Heritage Society

WHAT a sight for sore eyes as the old saying goes. A wreck has been turned into a bit of paradise.

What am I talking about? The Bilsthorpe Heritage Society taking over the garden on the corner of top Crompton and Church Street.

Started last October when they had a beautiful sandstone memorial to men and one woman killed at the Bilsthorpe Colliery from 1925 - 1997.

It has grown indeed to a place of beauty and rest with a new area patio and a seat.

The whole thing is a credit mainly to one man - Morris Goodman. Out there, day in, day out, rain or shine, because weeds, cats and dogs wait for no man. The young people of the village have been great, no damage, well done kids.
