Verity Kerr, 39, of Linton Close, admitted causing criminal damage, being drunk and disorderly and assaulting a constable when she appeared before Mansfield magistrates on Wednesday.

Police were called to her home address after neighbours complained she was shouting and screaming in the street in the early hours of July 24.

Ruth Snodin, prosecuting, said: “PC Steel heard her scream at the top of her voice and turned to see her jumping up and down on the police car’s bonnet.

“She screamed: ‘Go f*** yourself you dirty f***ing pig.’

“She continued to be abusive at the police station. She spat at a police officer’s top and had to be restrained.”

Zahra Hussain, mitigating, said Kerr had a ‘substantial record for dishonesty’ but had been out of trouble for five years.

“Previously she was a heroin addict but she fell pregnant. That was the trigger to change her life,” Ms Hussain said. “Since then she hasn’t committed any offences.”

She said Kerr now worked at a bridal wear factory.

The court heard she had been to a wedding but had become separated from her partner, and so drank vodka. Her partner would not let her back into the house.

A report from the probation service said Kerr was remorseful for her actions and concluded it was out of character.

Magistrates imposed a community order with a four week curfew from 8pm to 6am.

Kerr was also ordered to pay compensation to the officer of £100, with £85 court costs and an £85 victim surcharge.
