Updated flood alert for Mansfield, Clipstone, Edwinstowe and Ollerton as River Maun levels rise

An updated flood warning shows that river levels are rising in Nottinghamshire – with areas most at risk being Mansfield, Clipstone, Edwinstowe and Ollerton.

River levels are rising at the Whitewater Bridge river gauge as a result of persistent heavy rainfall.

Flooding of roads and farmland is possible to begin between 6.30pm and 7.30pm on Tuesday, October 24.

Areas most at risk are low-lying agricultural land and roads around Mansfield, the Sherwood Forest Caravan Park at Clipstone, Edwinstowe, Ollerton, Whitewater Lane at Whitewater Bridge and West Drayton.

Further showers are expected over the next three days.

River levels are expected to “remain high” until 06am on Wednesday, October 25.
