WEATHER WARNING: Thick fog set to cause chaos for motorists
The Met Office has issued a ‘yellow warning’ for severe fog in the East Midlands this morning.
The fog is expected to reduce the visibility for motorists below 100 metres in places and leading to difficult driving conditions.
The fog will then lift slowly towards noon.
A Met Office chief forecaster said: “A ridge of high pressure across central areas of the UK will lead to light winds and clear spells overnight, a recipe like the last two nights for areas of locally thick fog to develop, which will take until late morning on Tuesday to clear in some places.”
