WEATHER WARNING: Heavy rain and thundery showers today
The Met Office has issued a weather warning for heavy rain and thundery showers across the East Midlands today.
According to the Met Office, there will also be a risk of hail in the afternoon.
A Met Office chief forecaster said: “Warm, moist air from the continent will be made more unstable by a system coming over it from the Atlantic, bringing the risk of 20 mm or more in an hour and 50 mm in a few hours.”
The ‘yellow warning of rain’ was issued on Monday morning and is in place until 9pm today
