WEATHER WARNING: Heavy rain and thunderstorms this afternoon
The Met Office has issued a yellow warning with heavy rain and thunderstorms set to hit Nottinghamshire this afternoon.
The warning is in force from 2pm until 9pm with locally very intense rainfall rates expected alongside hail, lightning and gusty winds.
A further warning is in force for Friday evening from 7pm to midnight with isolated heavy, and possibly severe, thunderstorms expected. There is also the possibility of torrential downpours leading to localised surface water flooding, with large hail and frequent lightning.
