Gale force winds and heavy downfalls may continue cause major disruption to Wales, Scotland and Northwest England.

But further east, forecasters say winds are lower, with sunny spells although feeling a little cooler at 11 degrees centigrade.

It will become increasingly cloudy and windy into this evening, with potential gales and light rain in the early hours of the morning, mainly affecting the Peak District.
