Police have recovered cannabis with a street value of almost £40,000 after carrying out a warrant at an industrial unit in Mansfield Woodhouse.

A total of 38 mature plants - each with a potential worth of £1,000 - were found growing in a specially adapted corner of the warehouse on Thursday after Nottinghamshire Police acted on intelligence.

Nottinghamshire Police's Drug Support Team took just over an hour to completely dismantle the set-up, which included hydroponic lighting, electrical equipment and air filtration systems. The drugs will be incinerated.

A Corvette sports car was also seized from outside the unit in connection with the investigation.

A 51-year-old man has been reported for summons in connection with the investigation and enquiries are continuing.

A Nottinghamshire Police spokesman said: "Nottinghamshire Police is committed to tackling the supply of drugs and this successful warrant shows that will act on information to prevent, disrupt and enforce against those who produce and supply drugs.
