Warsop man who became abusive with police after vandals smashed his window spends night in cells

A Warsop man who became angry and abusive with police after vandals damaged his home ended up spending a night in the cells.

Martin Wood, 51 of Vickers Street pleaded guilty to using abusive and disorderly behaviour when he appeared before Mansfield Magistrates on Wednesday.

The court was told Wood was drunk and talking loudly with a woman outside his home after discovering his window had been broken on the evening of 1st March.

Police arrived and he calmed down, but later that night he was arrested after he began shouting and swearing and made threats to an officer.

He was given a 12 month conditional discharge with £85 costs and a £15 victim surcharge.
