Warsop birthday girl celebrates big day by raising £250 for Chad’s MRI Scanner Appeal

BIG-Hearted Warsop pensioner Olive Archer is pictured handing over a £250 donation to Chad’s MRI Scanner Appeal following her 80th birthday.

Olive said she was inspired to back Chad’s life-changing appeal after losing eight of her family members to various forms of the deadly disease during her life.

The cash was raised through donations from friends and family made at her 80th birthday party, which took place at Warsop Ex-Servicemen’s Club on 29th December.

Said Olive: “There has been eight of my family die from various forms of cancer and if I had not had my leg checked I would have had skin cancer as well.

“This is a disease that is very close to me and I wanted to do something to help.

“All I want at my age is my health. You never know when you might need to use the new scanner.”

Donations to our MRI appeal can be made by visiting Chad receptions, calling the customer services department at King’s Mill Hospital on 01623 672222, by visiting Sherwood Forest Hospital’s NHS Trust website, through Just Giving or by cheque.
