BUSINESS owners are being warned not to leave cash tills in their premises overnight after a series of break-ins at cafes and restaurants in Mansfield on one day last month.
Five burglaries or attempted break-ins were reported to police, which are believed to have happened on the morning of 28th February.
In three instances, tills were targeted and cash was reportedly stolen from two of the properties.
Nottinghamshire Police’s Pre-Crime Unit has issued advice to businesses, including installing alarms linked to the police control room, ensuring the till drawer is left open overnight to make it clear there is no cash present, displaying a clearly visible, brightly coloured notice stating that there is no cash left on the premises overnight.
