A letter was sent out to parents on Thursday, July 5, explaining that the child had been hospitalised but that there was no risk to other children at the school.
It said: “We have considered the circumstances of the case and no further action is necessary at the present time.

“These people have been identified and given antibiotics to stop the bacteria spreading.
“There is no reason to make any change in the school routine and no reason for children to be kept at home.”
The letter explained information about symptoms for both meningitis and septicaemia to parents, including medical advise for if the symptoms become apparent.
These symptoms include sudden drowsiness, rashes, stomach joint or muscle pain, and fevers or vomiting.
Parents were urged to contact their doctor immediately if any signs of the illnesses arise.
