Wainwright pupils raise more than £200 for children's cancer charity

The charity, formed in 2005, is the UK’s leading cancer charity for children, young people and their families, with care teams providing specialist support to people across the UK.
The fundraising struck a chord for Wainwright as one of the pupils had cancer when she was in the academy’s foundation stage, with CLIC Sargent providing the family with vital support.

Lucy Spacey, academy principal, said: “We were delighted to be able to hand over a cheque to CLIC Sargent.
“Teaching our pupils about supporting children and young people in need is an important message, and supports the values we believe in as a community.”
