VIDEO: Watch crane lift cement mixer which overturned on Derbyshire road, trapping man and his dog
Firefighters from Chesterfield and Staveley were called to Lavant Close, Brimington, at about 7.40am.
The crews gained access through the sunroof of the vehicle to free both the driver of the cement mixer, 51, from Chesterfield, and his dog, which was sat alongside him in his cab.

Hide AdThe driver was taken to Chesterfield Royal Hospital for a check-up.
The dog is believed to be fine.
A crane has lifted the cement mixer within the last hour.
One Lydden Close resident, who did not want to be named, said: “I heard all the sirens as I was having breakfast.
“You don’t expect this to happen on your street.”
