Video: Three arrested after robberies at Co-op stores in Annesley Woodhouse and Hucknall

Police have arrested three men suspected of carrying out two robberies at Co-op stores in Annesley Woodhouse and Hucknall.

Three men were involved in a raid at the new Co-operative store on Skegby Road, Annesley Woodhouse on Saturday, 15th February just days after it opened.

Police arrested men aged 18, 21 and 27 on Monday.

The raiders escaped with a haul of cigarettes after the robbery at 6.45pm.

A spokesperson from Central England Co-operative said:“ We can confirm that a robbery took place involving three male offenders at our Skegby food store on Saturday evening.

“The store remained closed on Saturday evening but opened for business as usual on Sunday morning.

“We continue to work closely with the Police to support their investigations.”

On Monday 11th February three masked men stole cigarettes and cash from the Co-op in Hucknall.

They entered the Watnall Road store at around 9.40pm, jumped over the counter and stole a large amount of cigarettes from a display.

They then used a crowbar to force open the till and steal cash before fleeing the scene in a silver or grey Ford Mondeo.

No-one was injured in the incident.

Officers said they suspect the 27 year-old to have also taken part in a robbery at Stamp King jewellery shop in Mansfield on January 6.
