Matthew Hancock toured the Kirkby and Derby Road campus of the college during his visit to see for himself the new facilities on offer. He was accompanied during his visit by college principal Asha Khemka, who also informed him about the employer links and how the college work with young people on their employability skills and preparing students for industry.

Matthew is responsible for apprenticeships, sixth forms, and further education working across the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills and the Department for Education.

“At the Kirkby campus, which holds the Construction Academy, Matthew saw how industry is shaping the curriculum and the new or green technologies that we have introduced,” said a college spokesman.
