The youngsters sang a selection of traditional carols and well-known yuletide songs and presenters from Mansfield 103 did a countdown to the switch-on of the home’s Christmas lights.

Activities co-ordinator Sarah Ellison said the residents loved hearing the children sing.

“Everyone was really on a high,” she said.

The home has really gone to town with its Christmas decorations and has even created a model ice rink full of skating penguins in its entrance area.
