VIDEO: Nottinghamshire Police and Crime Commissioner Paddy Tipping launches first crime plan

It marked the beginning of a new era in policing, with the views of the people playing an increasingly major role in shaping what is needed to achieve a safer future.

Mr Tipping launched his Plan at Mansfield Town Football Club before an audience of guests from criminal justice and community safety partnerships across the county - a potent gathering of people whose skills and knowledge help communities to both feel and be safe.

Mr Tipping was joined by Chief Constable Chris Eyre and Mayor of Mansfield Tony Egginton. Speakers included the Chair of Mansfield Partnership Against Crime (MPAC), Ruth Marlow, Dave Walker, Head of Community Cohesion, Nottingham City Council and Mansfield South Safer Neighbourhood Inspector, Neil Williams.

Guests included representatives of criminal justice and community safety partners, volunteer, health, business and community organisations, unions and local authorities. There was a number of displays featuring work carried out within Mansfield’s Ravensdale area to prevent and reduce crime and a demonstration from parents and children plus members of the Holocaust Centre involved in the ‘In our Hands’ project.

In his address, Mr Tipping outlined his ambitions, election pledges and priorities for action to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour and ensure fairer treatment for victims and citizens.
