A man has been taken to hospital following a fire at a flat in Mansfield this morning.

Crews were called to the blaze in the second-floor flat at Shireoaks Court at 7.20am.

One man was taken to hospital suffering from smoke inhalation.

A neighbour said he saw all the emergency services arrive and hopes the man is okay.

A lot of the damage was caused internally, and the neighbour said he had not actually seen the fire.

Crews from Mansfield, Ashfield and Blidworth attended the scene and the blaze was out by 7.55am.
