Video: Festive fun at Sutton Christmas lights switch on

Festive cheer was spread through Sutton on Saturday with the switch-on of the town’s Christmas lights and a seasonal market which included a host of activities for children.

Portland Square came alive from 10am-3pm with Santa in attendance, along with Elsa, Captain America and stilt walkers and a special snow globe.

Throughout the day youngsters sang their hearts out on a stage in portland Square with performances from Julie Shadclock dance Active Ashfield Factor, Croft Primary School, Mapplewells Primary School and Forest Glade Primary School.

The Christmas tree lights were switched on to a spirited performance of We Wish You a Merry Christmas by all three schools - and there was three cheers for Forest Glade Primary who recently won the title of Nottinghamshire Primary School Choir of The Year.
