DEMOLITION of terraced houses on a key gateway to Mansfield is almost complete.
Just four homes remained at Pleasley Hill, off Chesterfield Road North on Monday which are expected be knocked down by the end of the week.
Nearly 200 properties will have been being pulled down to make way for a modern housing complex.
Houses set back from the main road and one of two blocks of properties have now been knocked down.
It took the council more than a year to vacate all of the homes with the last remaining tenants being re-located in November last year.
Developers Westbury Partnership were chosen to build 150 modern homes at the site which will help meet the council’s affordable hosing needs.
Coun Derek Evans, portfolio holder for housing and regeneration expected the site to be completely cleared by the end of January with some new homes built by August.
