VIDEO: Ashfield Festival is a hit with visitors

The event, which is organised by Ashfield District Council, took place at Sutton Lawn and included live music, sports taster sessions, food, fairground rides, business and charity stalls, and crafts.

Although last year’s event had to be cancelled due to heavy rainfall, the organisers hoped to tap into the enthusiasm sparked by the Olympic and Paralympic Games from 2012 to enthuse the crowds.

Nikki Clarke, from Mansfield Woodhouse, added: “It’s the first time I’ve been and we’ve really enjoyed it. There is lots of family entertainment and it’s been a really good day out. The children have really enjoyed it.”
