A VICTORIAN tin church rescued and rebuilt by the Midland Railway at Butterley has been vandalised.
Six of the church’s windows were smashed on Monday night.
The church has been a big attraction since it was rebuilt and even won a national award for the work done to rescue it.
It has also been used in wedding blessings and funeral services.
Alan Calladine, Midland Railway Trust development officer, said: “We are very disappointed that this has happened.”
Security at the site will now be stepped up following the incident.
