Urgent appeal for missing Mansfield boy Ciaran Sweeney to ‘come home’

An urgent appeal to find a missing 14-year-old Mansfield boy has been renewed by Nottinghamshire Police.

Ciaran Sweeny was last seen near The Heathers, at the Oak Tree estate in Mansfield, at around 6pm on Sunday last weekend but he did not return home.

His mother has made an emotional plea for him to come home.

Over the weekend, people posted messages on social media networks calling for Ciaran to come home using the hashtag #findciaransweeney.

Mum, Rheane O’Neill, said: “Please come home. We are waiting for you and we want you to be safe. Everyone misses you. He did not even have any shoes on at the time. There was a possible sighting of him but they weren’t sure.”

Ciaran is white and about 5ft 2ins tall. He has brown short hair and is of a slim build.

He was last seen wearing a black coat with a hooded top, tracksuit bottoms and trainers.

Anyone with any information should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
