UPDATE: More details on dead dog in Shirebrook park
Council officials have realeased more information about a dead dog which has been removed from a Shirebrook park.
Following reports on social media that the animal had been decapitated and set on fire, a Bolsover District Council spokesman said: “We were asked on Tuesday to phone the police and arrange a meeting to locate the dog, which we did.
“It was a small dog comprising head and bone carcass, which we couldn’t scan to try and identify it because of its decomposed state and this was subsequently taken to landfill.
