UPDATE 06/05, 14:50: Motorcylist killed in crash at A614/A617 is named

POLICE on Sunday afternoon named the motorcyclist killed after a collision with a car at the junction of the A614 and the A617 on Saturday.

Two motorcyclists were heading away from Rainworth on the A614 before one rider - Keron Shane Daws (28), a father of two, who lived at Langford Road in Mansfield - collided with a Nissan Micra travelling in the opposite direction.

Police say that the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene after the collision at 11.50am. Two other vehicles - a Toyota Yaris and a Ford Transit van - were also involved, although no-one else was seriously injured.

The junction was closed for most of Saturday afternoon and police have now traced the second motorcyclist.

Officers would still like to hear from other motorists who may have witnessed the crash.
