Unpaid work for man who assaulted cop

A Hucknall man who assaulted a police officer and another man has been ordered to carry out unpaid work as a punishment.

Lee Baylis, 44, of Spitfire Way, admitted two counts of assault when he appeared before magistrates in Nottingham on October 25.

The court heard Bayliss assaulted PC James Waite and another man, in Hucknall, on September 25.

Magistrates ordered him to pay £50 compensation to each of his victims, as well as costs of £85 and an £85 victim surcharge.

Baylis was also made the subject of a 12 month community order, during which time he must carry out 100 hours of unpaid work.
