Tributes paid to Sutton motorcyclist who died in car smash

Family and friends have paid tribute to a Sutton man who died after his motorcycle was involved in a car smash.

Robert Baker, 30 was killed following the collision in Pentrich, Derbyshire on Sunday.

The incident, involving a green Kawasaki motorcycle and a Riley RMA Saloon, occurred on the B6013 Chesterfield Road at around 2.15pm on Sunday, May 13.

Mr Baker was transported to Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham where he was later pronounced dead.

The driver of the car, a 66-year-old man, suffered serious injuries and is being treated in hospital.

Four men were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and have been released under investigation.

Tributes were paid to Robert on the Chad Facebook page this week.

Emily Rachel White wrote: “ I will be sure to take extra care when driving today! And for the rest of my life.

“A life that had just begun, sadly snatched away...

“I will not cry for the loss, I will smile for all the memories, jokes, outrageous banter and laughs.

“Our family won’t be the same again.

“Hurting unbelievable amounts.

“Sleep tight my big cousin.

“You died doing something you loved best, you certainly left an imprint on everyone, sometimes you might of even been tempted to leave one on peoples foreheads... like that time i cut my finger and very nearly bled all over you car.

“I cannot even accept this right now.

“Love you, until we meet again. Xx “

She added: “I’d like to just thank everybody in terms of the police and ambulance crew who had worked to save our Robert, although its hard right now for our family, id like to thank people for their condolenses and ask for privacy regarding this matter.”

Anyone with possible dash cam footage, or who witnessed the incident, is asked to call the Collision Investigations Unit on 101 quoting incident 498 of May 13.
