In a tweet, Highways England confirmed that the aftermath of the collision on the motorway at Tibshelf Services, connecting to the A617 in Chesterfield has now been cleared.

The authority previously closed two lanes on the M1 northbound this morning while traffic officers made the scene safe.

This lead to congestion and delays for motorists commuting to work.

Two lanes have been closed on the M1 northbound in Tibshelf to junction 29, which leads to the A617 due to a collision.

All lanes are now reopen.
