Traffic blocked and one casualty taken to hospital after crash on a Mansfield road

A crash which happened on a Mansfield road "partially" blocked traffic and resulted in one casualty taken to hospital.

The indecent which was first reported at 2pm today (Wednesday, February 21) on the round about of Adamsway and Bellamy Road.

One 50-year-old woman, suffering with neck and back pain was taken to hospital.

A spokeswoman from East Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We received a call at 12:23 this afternoon reporting a collision near Bellamy Road and Adamsway in Mansfield. One patient was taken to Kings Mill Hospital. Fire service also attended."

A spokesman from AA who reported the delay to traffic said: "The road is partially blocked due to accident on Bellamy Road both ways at the junction of the A617. The accident is not too far from the Neil Harrod garage."

A spokesman from Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "Crews from Mansfield and Ashfield were called at 1.05pm to the scene of a collision between two cars.

"One man had got out of the car before crews arrived. One 50-year-old woman, suffering with neck and back pain, was treated by paramedics at the scene.

"Firefighters had dealt with the incident by 2pm."
