UPDATE: Man arrested after car flipped onto its roof outside Mansfield school, injuring three people

A car flipped onto its roof near the gates of Garibaldi School, Garibaldi Road, Forest Town and two patients were treated at the scene.

The speed limit of the road is 20mph.

Several ambulance service response cars and a fire engine, along with police officers, were at the scene.

Nottinghamshire Police said a total of three people were injured - two drivers and a child.

They arrested one of the drivers for failing to provide a specimen of breath, and he has been taken to King’s Mill Hospital as a precaution.

Further to earlier information, the school has now said a student did recieve a minor injury.

East Midlands Ambulance Service said it sent several medics to the scene at about 2pm.

A spokeswoman said: “The caller reported a road traffic collision involving two vehicles.

“We sent four paramedics in fast response cars and two double-crewed ambulances to the scene.

“We worked closely on scene with Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue and Nottinghamshire Police.

“One patient has been taken to King’s Mill Hospital and one patient has been treated and discharged on scene.”
