Mansfield’s Station Road car park closed this week to make way for the town’s new bus station.
Motorists can continue to park in Mansfield District Council’s other town centre car parks, including Four Seasons, Walkden Street, Queen’s Head, Old Town Hall or Victoria Street.
The new bus station, due to be completed in spring 2013, will be located at the Station Road car park.
The building will be light and airy, with extensive use of glass. It will be fully enclosed and have a comfortable waiting area with plenty of seating, toilets, a baby changing area, shops and refreshments.
It will include a staffed travel information office, electronic timetable information, CCTV cameras linked to the town centre system and automatic doors separating the waiting passengers from buses.
