Tombola boosts funds for charity

Breast Cancer Awareness Month, prompted members of the Amazon Breast Cancer Support Group to be in Sutton’s Idlewells Precinct with their tombola stall and information display boards.

Shoppers took their chances on winning the prizes and contributed £183 to the Amazon Charity whose funds support local breast cancer patients at King’s Mill Hospital.

Amazon members, who are, or have been, breast cancer patients or carers themselves, talked about related matters and gave information and Amazon Newsletters to people who showed interest.

The Amazons hold Open Meetings for breast cancer patients and carers in The Amazon Lounge (Women and Children’s Department, King’s Mill) at 7.30pm every second Tuesday in the month (except August) and welcome new members to join them for a cupper and a chat.
