Tickets selling fast for third Hall-Fast charity ball

The fundraising spectacular is the brainchild of award-winning Mansfield businessman Malcolm Hall and this year will raise money for the Fountaindale SEN School as well as Headway Nottingham and Headway UK – the brain injury charities.

In the last two years, Hall-Fast Industrial Supplies has helped to raise thousands of pounds to buy new equipment for Fountaindale – a school which sits on the Mansfield and Ashfield border and helps youngsters aged three to 19 with severe physical and sensory needs.

This year Headway will also benefit from the charity ball, which takes place on 29th May and will include a sumptuous three-course meal as well as top class entertainment.

Almost all of the 280 tickets have been sold for the black tie event.

Said Mr Hall: “We are tremendously proud to have sold the number of tickets we have. It is through the support of friends, family, customers, suppliers and our community partners that we’re able to do it – and we appreciate all the support we get.

“It’s a fabulous night and we’re raising cash for three great causes. It’s easy for me to say it, but it’s true, it’s the most prestigious event in North Notts. There will be 280 people there. A lot of business people will also be there. It’s a great night and a lot of fun will be had by all.”

Money which has been raised in previous years has helped Fountaindale to kit out its new purpose-built school with the very latest ICT equipment.

The Nottingham Road school moved into its new build in October last year and principal Mark Dengel said the ‘amazing’ fundraising efforts of Hall-Fast helps to provide the youngsters with the vital equipment they need.

He said: “We do rely so much on the fundraising from the local community. I have to say they have been absolutely fantastic in the last two years. We have raised well over £100,000 and around half of that has come through Hall-Fast and their sponsors.

“They have been really amazing – and because of that we have now got probably half way towards having all the equipment we would really like to have.”

The charity ball is just one of a number of events Mr Hall will be taking part in this year to raise money for the charities.

In April, he and other cyclists will take part in a 100-mile bike ride to raise money for Headway.

One of the main inspirations for the ride on 17th April is ex-Nottingham Rugby Club legend David Jackson, who was forced to retire from the game due to a head injury.

Then in August, Mr Hall will be cycling 300 miles from Newcastle to London in 24 hours.
