THE magical story of Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs is set to return to Mansfield Palace Theatre as this year’s Christmas Pantomime.
The fairytale story is a festive classic and is familiar with Mansfield folk after last coming to the town in 2006.
The star-studded cast includes Coronation Street’s Tupele Dorgu, who has been confirmed as the Wicked Queen.
The feisty TV character has enjoyed numerous appearances on the small screen, most notably on BBC’S Waterloo Road and Casualty, as well as ITV’s Loose Women.
Having played a factory girl in Coronation Street and currently touring the UK in the role of Velma in Chicago, Tupele is well used to playing an outspoken and sassy character, preparing her well for the devilish role of The Wicked Queen.
Along with Tupele, the panto will also feature the ever popular seven dwarfs and, of course, the beautiful Snow White.
TV funnyman Mark James will make a welcome return to Mansfield as Muddles.
He has previously been seen on ITV’S Britain’s Got Talent as half man and half woman singing duo.
Lovable Palace favourite, Charles Burden, who enjoyed playing Aladdin in 2009/10, will appear this year, as Nursie.
Around 70 per cent of tickets have already been sold for this year’s performances.
Cultural Services Manager, Andrew Tucker said: “We are delighted that once again audiences are eager and excited to see our pantomime.”
Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs will run from 1st December to 6th January 2013 with various morning, afternoon and evening performances. Tickets are priced £12.50 full, £11.50 concessions and £44 for a family of four.
Preview performances on Saturday 1st December are priced at just £9.
