Three released under investigation after robbery and assault in Sutton's Idlewells Shopping Centre

Three people have been released under investigation after an robbery in Sutton's Idlewells Shopping Centre where a community protection officer was hit in the head with a baton.

Police originally arrested the three people in connection with a robbery but they have now been released while investigations are ongoing.

The robbery happened at H&T Pawnbrokers, in The Idlewells Shopping Centre, on Wednesday, July 18.

A Nottinghamshire Police spokesman said: "It was reported that two men entered the store and threatened a shop worker with a hammer before stealing a quantity of jewellery and watches.

"During the robbery it was reported that a community protection officer was hit in the head with a baton."
