Firefighters tackled a chip pan blaze in Alfreton yesterday.

Crews from Alfreton, Clay Cross and Ashfield in Nottinghamshire extinguished the fire in a flat on Cressy Road at around 5.30pm.

A Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said three casualties suffered from smoke inhalation and were left in the care of the ambulance service.
