It is thought that one driver suffered a cut to his eye and one had to be cut from his vehicle, although the police say no serious injuries have been reported at the moment.

One witness, who heard the crash and came out of his house, said: “The fire service arrived within minutes of the crash, then a couple of minutes later two ambulances turned up, followed by two police cars.

“A white car is very badly damaged the wheel has come totally off and is almost crushed.

“The black car behind it is the car that a victim was trapped in.

“There is glass everywhere and water or oil from the cars all over the road too, two cars quite heavily damaged.

“The other car, further down forest road, looks to have had its windows smashed.”
