Thousands honour fallen troops in Sutton for Armistice centenary

Thousands of Sutton residents have paid their respects today on Armistice Day for the centenary of the First World War.

More than 700,000 British soldiers were killed during the war which started on July 28 1914 and ended exactly 100 years ago today.
