A Mansfield football club has appealed for help to find its stolen minibus.
Rainworth Miner’s Welfare FC had their minibus stolen from their ground some time between Thursday evening and Friday morning from inside the ground on Kirklington Road.
The club faces a bill for thousands to replace the nine seater Ford Transit minibus silver-grey with reg RE61WVJ.
Chairman Leslie Lee said: “It was a nice minibus we used to take us to the matches.
“We cannot afford another one so we would be grateful if people could keep a look out for it for us.“We will have to travel to matches in our cars now.
“I don’t think it was a young joy rider, my theory is that it has been stolen to order.
“It is a blow to the club but we will carry on.
“I am upset about it but life goes on.
The club has had the van which was paid for by a sponsor, for about three years.
A spokesman for Nottinghamshire Police said: “We received a report of a stolen mini-bus from a football club in Rainworth on 27 April.
“The keys are believed to have been stolen from the club in Kirklington Road the day before and the 9-seater bus is thought to have been taken at some point between 9pm-7am.
