The Time Cafe Bar in the Four Seasons shopping centre has launched its appeal along with the Salvation Army for donations of toys and games for disadvantaged kids in the Mansfield and Ashfield area.

Manager Alan Holmes said: “People have been bringing in lots of items and we have had a great response so far.

“Essentially this is to help disadvantaged children in the community who people often forget about and put to the back of their mind at this time of the year. We want to raise a bit of awareness about them and help them have a good Christmas.”

“We are particularly needing gifts for boys aged between 11-16 at the moment as people generally bring in gifts for the younger age groups.”

Staff will help the Salvation Army distribute the gifts and they will also be giving free food ad hot drinks to homeless people on Christmas Eve, through the Salvation Army.

Take your gift to the store, which is between Boots and Debenhams. Alan added: “If anyone doing their shopping has an extra gift to share please think about our appeal. You don’t have to be a customer to donate a gift - it’s all about giving youngsters a better Christmas.”
